6月19日，伴随着嘹亮的汽笛声，一列火车缓缓驶入北部湾港北海铁山港北暮作业区7#铁路专用线。至此，北海铁山港第一个铁路专用线入园集装箱货运枢纽综合货运站——西部陆海新通道北海联运中心正式开通运营。
据17356物流网了解到，该项目是自治区基础设施补短板“物流网”建设大会战重要项目。
西部陆海新通道北海联运中心位于北海铁山港区北暮作业区3#泊位后方陆域，占地面积约209亩，总投资1.5亿元。历时近3年，联运中心建成1束2线铁路专线，正线总长0.88公里，可一次性到发100标箱铁路集装箱列车，集装箱装卸能力达18万标箱/年。目前，北海铁山港区共有4束8线铁路专线，年货运量能力远期将超2000万吨。
这个联运中心优势在哪？北海北港物流有限公司总经理杨锐介绍，联运中心利用园区专用线及丰富的机械设备优势，提高铁山港码头集装箱装卸效率，加快桂东班列、玉林班列和本地货源的发运，缓解港口的铁路装卸压力，有力提升北海铁山港区的物流综合服务能力，进一步完善西部陆海新通道的集疏运体系。未来将不断提升枢纽中心的辐射力与场站的承载力，为临港企业提供更高效、更便捷的铁路接发服务，为港区的集装箱货运提供有力支撑。
