五一，渤海开始休渔。不过假期里，还是有不少游客是冲着吃海鲜来天津的，各海鲜市场增加进货渠道，保证供应。守着北塘街道的老居民区，每天6点到9点，早市都会准时营业，这个五一假期，很多到北塘古镇、生态城的游客，都会慕名来赶早市儿，体验海边的市井气息。200个摊位，多半都是卖鲜活水产的，不少游客买了海货，想尝尝当地的特色做法，所以假期，街里和北塘古镇的十几家饭店合作，去景区玩的游客，可以把从早市买的海货，放在店里加工，到了饭点儿，直接过来吃。
假期里，海鲜批发市场也是人气十足，工作人员提前梳理了20多个沿海养殖场的供货商，加大补货量，像是浙江的黄花鱼、山东青岛的鲅鱼都有。前三天，王顶堤水产批发市场的交易量已经超过200万公斤。随着外地货源增多，市场协调了周边冷库，增加储存空间，工作人员24小时在岗，保障货源随到随存。
